Hello everyone 🙂 So far I have only posted writing/English type things. So I felt that I should branch out and try another approach for you guys!
In the past I have made some big and serious mistakes. But God is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins. And I am so thankful that God has forgiven me for the many sins I have committed. I thought I’d share some things I’ve learned from my experience with the subject of peer pressure.
Now, a lot of teens stray from the LORD and sin due to peer pressure. I know! Its happened to me, I got into a position I shouldn’t have, because I wanted a friend that I shouldn’t have wanted. This friend didn’t care about God and what was right, and I hoped to win them over to Christ….but I did that the wrong way. The way I went about this was, I got close to them, compromising my morals and standards, and doing/saying things I never would have thought possible, from me, a saved person. I tried to be like them so they would like me….1 Corinthians 15:33 says “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.”
If we hang around people who don’t care for the things of Christ, we will start to be like them. We won’t care what the bible says. We’ll block out the preachers sermons and veer from the straight and narrow path. We have to avoid this! Sadly, I didn’t.
And then I tried to tell them about Christ.
Christian, that is a very very dangerous place to be, let me tell you. Not only are you destroying your testimony, you are a hypocrite and your friend or family member won’t see the seriousness in their situation, especially if you act just like them in the first place! Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Friend, we need to focus on that which is good, and stay away from temptations. In my case, a friend, and follow God. It is so worth it! In the end of all this, if we are saved, we will live in Paradise with our Heavenly Father! He has rich rewards for those who follow after him, obey him and do that which is right according to his will. Being a teenager today in this world is rough, I know, I am one too! But the Bible says in Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” God gives us strength if we will put our utmost faith in him. 🙂
God also gives us a promise about us resisting temptations! In 1 Corinthians 10:13 it says: “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it].” That means that we will never be tempted too much, we can always resist, with God as our main focus in life. We always have a way to escape that temptation by the Grace of God. But…. If we are straying from his righteous path in the first place, then it will be harder for us to say no to sin, since our flesh will be leading us, instead of the LORD. But we know that whenever we are tempted we are able to trust God to get us through. He has our back in this guys! In Proverbs 1:10 it says “My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.” We don’t have to consent to them!
God also calls those who resist temptation “Blessed”! In James 1:12 “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.“
Say NO to sin. Say NO to peers that tempt you. Prevail and be called Blessed! 🙂
Teen, let’s set out to make a difference for God in this lost and dying world. God wants to do an amazing work through us. Lets do our part!
Thank you for stopping by 🙂 I hope this post was a blessing for you!
