My Writing Process

Hello loves! I thought I would share with you all how I write, what I write, what I do well with, and what I struggle with.

Generally, the writing process consists of 5 different elements. Prewriting, drafting, revising, editing, & publishing.

Prewriting

Prewriting for me is more brainstorming and scribbling down certain facts that I don’t want to forget. I often run through a scene over and over until I find things that can connect to the story.
For instance, if I thought of a girl pacing angrily back and forth in her bedroom. I would keep running the scene in my head until I figured out why she was angry. Maybe her brother stole something of hers. Or maybe her best friend lied to her, and she’s trying to decide what she’s going to say to her, next time she sees her.

My cat watches me as I walk from one end of my room to the other. Back and forth. Back and forth. Back and forth. He meows at me, annoyed. “I can’t believe she lied to me, Gus! We’ve been friends since we were 6, we never keep secrets from each other.” I sprawl onto my bed, Gus climbs over me, bothered by my presence. I would be too if I were him. Anna, my BFF of 10 years, has been hanging out with my nemesis. Jessie Newman, the most popular girl in school. “I just can’t believe my best friend would ditch me for that airhead.” I mutter, standing and gazing at my reflection in my floor length mirror. “Anna Gibson.” I begin, my voice strong. “I don’t appreciate the way you’ve been treating me….so I..I’m throwing away your friendship bracelet and….cropping you out of my laptops wallpaper!” I stomp my foot for extra oomph then lay on the floor and cry.

Cinder (#1 The Lunar Chronicles) by Marissa Meyer – Book Review

I just finished Cinder by Marissa Meyer And. I. LOVED. IT!!

Alright, first we have to talk about the BEAUTIFUL COVER!!!!!

I just want to frame this and put it on my wall! ❤ It’s just so Goy-jussss!

And look at the Thailand edition!

Title: Cinder
Author: Marissa Meyer
Published by: Feiwel & Friends
Published: January 3, 2012
Pages: 390
Synopsis:
Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless Lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl.

Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.

Cinder is the first volume in The Lunar Chronicles series by Marissa Meyer. Guys, I could hardly put this book down, which was kinda bad because I was babysitting the day I was reading it so I had to make myself to put it down to keep track of the kids “:D

Cinder is a cyborg! Like…WOW That is so cool!! She’s a mechanic, the best in New Beijing. Everyone comes to her to  fix their broken devices, and the like.
She’s 16, and her best friend is an android named Iko. Iko is so awesomeeeee! I just love her! She’s such a sweet and funny robot x) I just wanted to hug her like..

BTW, I ship Iko and Baymax!! ❤ Their ship name could be Bayko XD

Cinder was an awesome character. She’s strong, and devoted. She goes through so much with her evil step mother always making her work, and calling her names, treating her like garbage. Cinder meets Prince Kaito (Kai) and suddenly, her younger sisters mad crush on him no longer seems silly. But she’s a cyborg, and he’s a prince! Besides, how/why would he even notice her? A mechanic, a cyborg…..but wait…there’s a secret about her….. a secret even she can’t believe. When the Lunar Queen Levana comes to earth, causing trouble among the earthens, will accepting who she is save the world?! Quite possibly. OK there you go I just went all synopsis-y on you. 😀 Basically this is my new favorite book. Go. Read. It. SO WE CAN FANGIRL TOGETHER!!!!

Once I finished the book I threw it at my sister (literally) and commanded her to read it, and I watched her as she read the whole first chapter. I was all like:

I completely ship Cinder and Kai. Kai is so sweet and funny! And Cinder is so serious yet sarcastic. They make a great match in my opinion

THINGS I DIDN’T LIKE:

There was a part that I was kinda like “ehh”
Iko says something to the effect of “Do you think Prince Kai’s android has ever seen him in the nude?” And I was like “Really Iko?! Watch your mouth!”
Also d*mn and dammit are used a few times.

I give Cinder 5 out of 5 hearts because I seriously fell in love with it. AND I NEED THE NEXT BOOK NOWWWW.

5-hearts
Thanks for stopping by! Off  to the library…..

Matched Trilogy Review

The Matched Trilogy review is here!

I just finished Reached the third and final book in the Matched Trilogy. Now I’m in a bad mood, but I left my sulking corner so I could write this review. ;D

Ally Condie did a good job with this series and I have to admit I’m sad that it’s over, but there were some flaws….Here’s what I thought of each of the books and the series in general:
